Da oTTo
English inspired taste and Scandinavian designs meet in Milan’s Chinatown, a sublime cultural contamination. It will simply satisfy your eyes, appetite, and mood.
Da Otto is just located in the middle of Via Sarpi, which is well-known as Chinatown. On the way there, don’t get lost by the rows of chinese fashion and accessories stores and tons of chinese restaurants as the café stands out among others as the only Scandinavian style structure with large windows.
Once you enter, you will feel more as an international citizen as you’ll see a lot of different faces, colors, and languages spoken there, such interaction you rarely find in Italy. It’s not only the design and food that bring in the cultural contamination but also the people who fill the space, they affirm the existency of the café with such richness.
Brunch is definitely a must here, a distinctive cuisine called Quadrotto which is a slice of flat whole bread topped with fresh and healthy ingredients depends on the menu chosen. The range of the ingredients is wide, from sesame seed, pine nuts, guacamole, cheese, eggs, to salsa yoghurt, pork, sunflower seeds and even chocolate cream. Sounds like an unusual combination? Not at all until you taste it.
The menu is served on a wooden board, such a rustic presentation. This goes well along with the bloomingly green wall on one side, as well as the green plants decorating the interior, bringing the ambience of nature into the café. This particular wall is my favorite surely, it is covered with vases containing plants of every size. The big wooden rectangular table on the side of it becomes my regular spot so I somehow blend with the nature. Nevertheless, I love being in high chair by the window too especially while sipping a cup coffee and writing an article with my laptop, giving me my own personal.
This relaxed and tidy location will welcome you with a homey atmosphere featuring formica chairs and tables that recall old school desks. Moreover, the staffs are cool people you wish you can be best-friend with.
